A day-long workshop that includes playing with LOTS of leafy, flowery organic patterns and a Drawing Safari in a local forest and conservation area! Bring your hiking shoes and sketchbook!
The day will begin with gathering at Currier Hall to carpool to our safari location nearby. We'll take pictures, collect samples and look at the myriad of repetitive patterns found in nature. We'll have time for sketching what we see, and also looking closer for hidden patterns.
We'll return to Currier Hall at lunch time, and afterwards gather and look closer at our finds and learn to break them down into individual strokes for recording as tangle patterns. Sadelle will also teach a few organic shaped tangle patterns to add to the mix as we create miniature tangled forests on paper.
